23 January

Planning:: thinking:: dreaming::
Lots of big decisions:: lots of life changing thoughts::
Wanting to live intentionally:: wanting to do the best that we can::
Not knowing what path to go down::
Deciding on one path for one day::
Deciding on the absolute opposite the next::

Confused:: Bewildered:: Perplexed::
Hoping for some clarity::
Looking for a sign::
Time will tell::

  1. There's a story that I love that goes like this:

    "I walked into the hall my apartment building, and the electricity was off, and I dropped my key.
    I couldn't find it, and it was irritating looking for it in the dark, so I went outside, to look for it under the street lamp.
    A friend came along, and asked me what I was doing, and I told him I was looking for my key. He immediately said he'd help me look for it.
    After about ten minutes, my friend said, totally at a loss, "Well where was it that you dropped it, exactly?"
    "I dropped it inside, in the hall, but it's dark in there, so I came out here to look for it."
    :)

    There's another one that says you find the door and push and push and push on the door to get out and into the light.
    Finally after railing at the Universe at the unfairness, a voice comes and says that the door must be opened toward the inside.

    I don't believe that there really are any "should"'s... other than what you want for your own life. Other than expressing your own Truth.
    For me, that's usually pretty easy, as I stay strolling, running, or leaning toward the light. My guide is Joy, and Love, and Harmony... all things goodness and joyful.
    But you get to decide for you!!
    I'll look forward to hearing more about this evolution of yours! :)

  2. I love the idea of letting Joy Love and Harmony be our guides - definitely something to take forward.

    One thing I am realising (and going to be posting about soon) is that I am the only person responsible for my own happiness:: equally, I cannot be responsible for other's happiness - I can do things for others, but I cannot *make* them be happy, and by trying I'm almost certainly setting myself up to fail.

  3. I think all these things belong in the midst of change. If smooth sailing was easy, we would all be doing it. But, choosing the road less traveled is meant to perplex, confuse, and challenge. At least I hope it is, as our road has been nothing much less than that. Challenge is good, but as Stephanie says, joy is there right along for the ride. I usually have to keep my eyes wide open to see it.

  4. MJ - so true - there wouldn't be any sense of achievement if there was no challenge in getting there in the first place, I guess. But at the moment we are divided on what path to take as a family, and that is hard, as we are pulling in different directions. Definitely a rocky road at the moment, but we'll come through it and find the right route for us - I think it's just a matter of being open to see what is the right path and where the compromise lies.
